Catrin And Sion’s Wedding-Vale Country Club

10/09/2026

What started as a dull, rainy morning at Vale Country Club, soon turned into the most incredible wedding day for Catrin and Sion!

I was second photographer alongside the brilliant Markus Watson Photography again, and from the moment I arrived, there was already that unmistakable buzz in the air.

Over in the bridal shepherd’s hut, the girls were getting their glam on. It was a small space, but absolutely packed with excited chatter, laughter and anticipation as everyone prepared for the big moment.

I was given the job of capturing the details, so I headed over to the venue where I met the lovely florist putting the finishing touches to the wedding breakfast tables. The tables looked incredible, with gorgeous orange and green floral centre pieces bringing so much colour and personality to the room.

Once the bridal flowers were ready, I set up the flat lay in the ceremony room making the most of the beautiful natural light streaming through the windows.

There were so many little details to capture, and it was the perfect opportunity to soak up the atmosphere before the day really started!

It was time to head over and meet the groom. I was greeted by a couple of Sion’s cheeky groomsmen, who were more than happy to strike a handsome pose or two before the main photographer took over. I then headed back to cover some more details with the bridal party.

While Markus was capturing the all-important dress revel and those special moments between Catrin and her dad at the Bridal Shepherd’s Hut, I had another very important subject to photograph…Rex, the couple’s dog!

Once the ceremony was over and the group shots were underway, I switched into full documentary mode and started mingling amongst the guests, looking for those fun, spontaneous moments.

And there was plenty!

From silly poses with friends to guests throwing some serious shapes on the makeshift dance floor area outside in the grounds of the country club- the wedding singer was amazing and had everyone up dancing, myself included!

At one point I was having so much fun that I forgot I was there to work-Sorry Markus!!

As the evening rolled in, Vale Country Club completely transformed. The gardens came alive with colourful lighting and beautiful string lights along the barn walls creating perfect backdrops for the couples evening portraits.

It was a lovely chance for Catrin and Sion to escape the madness for a few moments, take a breath and enjoy some quiet time together.

And then it was straight back to the party- the dance floor was packed, drinks were flowing, shots were being enjoyed and everyone was having an absolute blast!

And just when you thought this wedding could not get any better, there was even a beautiful harpist playing during the wedding breakfast, creating such a calm and magical atmosphere before the evening celebrations really got underway!

This wedding genuinely had it all.

Chris And Lois Wedding at Highfield Hall, Mold-18/04/2026

I was approached by Markus Watson Photography to help as second photographer a beautiful wedding at Highfield Hall in Mold, Wales, for a lovely couple, Chris and Lois-both primary school teachers!

Having previously shadowed Markus at a wedding at The Old Palace, Chester, I was definitely nervous going into my first wedding as a second photographer.

I knew I had to put all the practice and preparation into action, and I am so glad I managed to pull it off!

From bridal and groom preparations to all the little candid moments that natutrally unfolded throughout the day, it was such a pleasure to be involved in capturing these memories for Lois and Chris.

One of my favourite parts of the day was seeing the couple welcomed and congratulated by their school children outside the church. It was such a sweet and memorable moment and something they will treasure for years to come.

We then had a lovely, relaxed moment with the newlyweds on a beautiful hilltop that held alot of meanings for them, before heading back to Highfield Hall and enjoying the evening celebrations-and what it party it was!

Smoke bombs, confetti, sparklers and plenty of cocktails made for such a fun atmosphere, with so many natural and memorable moments happening throughout the night- exactly the kind of moments that make weddings so special to photograph!

I also had the pleasure of working alongside videographer Geraint Perry, who was incredibly understanding of my nerves, especially when I was left alone to photograph some of the groom preparations on my own!

A huge thank you to Markus Watson Photography for trusting me to be a part of the day, and to Chris and Lois for allowing me to play a small part in capturing such an important chapter of their lives.

My first wedding second shooting experience-and one I certainly won’t forget!
